Location-based ads that surface when a user is at a specific place/in the appropriate mindset and click through to a mobile landing page of your choice. We like to think of them as contextual advertising for the physical world. Place-Based Ads are the perfect way to talk to users when and where it’s relevant - Talking to mom when she’s in the shopping isle or to the millennial who just walked into a bar has never been easier.

On Swarm when a user checks in somewhere, and on Foursquare venue pages.

 

Charging Model

Cost Per Click - Bid Model. We surface ads based on a combination of the bid price, creative unit CTR, and the likeliness of a specific user interacting with the ad.

Promoted Place Ads

Location-based ads that surface when a user is nearby and Foursquare thinks they are likely to go there. We determine this by looking at the user’s past visits, the types of places they like, and where friends in their social network have been. Promoted Places drive foot traffic, increase sales and build awareness by putting your brand front and center.

 

Ad Location

On the Foursquare homepage, when a user is searching for places to go nearby, and in Swarm, on a user’s friend feed.

Charging Model

Cost Per Action - Bid Model. When a user clicks on the ad or visits the location within 72 hours of a seen impression. If a user does both, we’ll only charge you once.
